MTRC Contract 903

Project Information

As Project Manager for Craft Projects Ltd., Simon was responsible for coordinating the design, procurement, fabrication (including regular factory visits), QA / QC, delivery of materials and the construction of all track-level Noise Barriers. The site covered an area of 2.1km, comprising of three separate viaducts and a cast in-situ bridge with a span of 115m.

The barriers were a combination of steel arches, aluminium exterior cladding, acoustic roof panels, double-glazed vision panels and trackside acoustic (perforated) panels.

The project provided some complex challenges, notably the installations over the busy Wong Chuk Hang Road (near the Aberdeen Toll Plaza) and above the shipping lane of the Aberdeen Channel. In addition, the track laying works were accelerated which resulted in us having to build track-operable access rigs to complete the viaduct works.
